The Investigative Judgment

Now the first angel tells us WHY we need to fear God and give Him glory: because the hour of His judgment has come. Now, given the context, we must realize that this judgment happens shortly BEFORE the return of Jesus; not at His return, and not at death. Before. A pre-advent judgment, if you will. But, what judgment is being spoken of here?
