The writings of historians, the records of chronographers, the languages of earth, the calendars of time, and the existence of the Jewish race—all testify to the fact that the weekly cycle on our calendars today is the same as in earlier centuries—going back to the time of Christ, to Moses, and beyond.

The word cult gets thrown around a lot, often without careful definition. For many, it means “any group that believes differently than I do.” But if we’re going to be fair—and biblical—let’s test the Seventh-day Adventist Church by the Word of God, not by human tradition or popular opinion.

Here’s why the claim that SDAs are a cult simply doesn’t hold up.

In an age of spiritual noise and religious spectacle, it’s easy to assume that power equals truth. If someone performs miracles, speaks boldly in Jesus’ name, or claims to have visions—surely that’s the Holy Spirit at work… right?

Not always.

This is another very common objection to the Sabbath. Many will often claim, “Jesus is my Sabbath!” This, of course, is just an excuse to reject the real Sabbath and to continue doing what you want. Let’s look at it from the Bible.

Mark 9:43-48 is often cited by many in an effort to try and prove eternal hellfire. But, is that what it really teaches? No, it doesn’t. When we compare all the Scriptures in the Bible on this topic, it becomes extremely clear that nobody goes to Heaven or Hellfire at death, and hellfire doesn’t even exist yet. So I received a comment on one of my Instagram posts with several objections as to why this person believes the Sabbath no longer applies in the New Testament time period, starting with Christ came to fulfill the law. This is one of those hotly debated topics within the various circles of Christianity. Some say the doctrine of OSAS is false, some say it’s true. But, what does the Bible say? You know, recently I was driving my work truck. It was about week ago. (A week and two days by the time you're reading this.) And it was raining. It was raining HARD. It was deafening. The parable of the rich man and lazarus is found in Luke 16:19-31. It is hotly debated about whether or not it is a parable or if it was a story that actually happened. However, when studying the Bible on this topic, it becomes abundantly clear that it is a parable.

It is pretty common to hear or see people reference the apostle Paul when trying to sustain their belief that people go to heaven or hell at death. However, when studying the entire Bible on this subject, it becomes abundantly clear that Paul never taught the concept of the immortal soul, or the idea of and eternally burning hell.

Many people teach that the apostle Paul releases us from obedience to the Ten Commandments. But, what does the Bible ACTUALLY say?
