Satan’s March Against the Remnant
Satan isn't targeting and attacking most of the Christian denominations; he's already got them in his back pocket. No, he's attacking the Remnant: those who keep the Commandments of God, have the testimony of Jesus, and keep the faith of Jesus.
And the closer we get to the return of Jesus, the harder Satan works. Keep in mind, too, we are not dealing with a movie villain here who makes mistakes the angrier he gets. We are dealing with the ancient dragon, who has had 6,000+ years to perfect his craft
So what is Satan's strategy against the Remnant? Divide and Conquer. We are told "Press together, Press together!" That phrase appears nearly 600 times in the writings of the Spirit of Prophecy. Go look on egwwritings.org
Satan knows this, so he brings in all kinds of errors to divide us from each other. Now, we should not compromise and unite on error. However, we also should do our best to not allow Satan any victory in this struggle.
There are many errors and controversies Satan wants us to believe. You find these in the far more liberal side of Adventism, and the far more conservative side as well.
For example, some of these controversies are as follows:
For the liberals:
“Sin is no big deal.”
“You can’t have complete victory in this life.”
"We will sin until the Second Coming."
“God’s law isn’t binding.”
Gender confusion, ecumenism, new age spirituality creeping in.
Women's Ordination (See my blog on my website about this for why it's ubiblical)
The idea that Jesus had an unfallen nature (this one is dangerous, leading people to feel comfortable in their sins, making no effort to overcome.)
For the conservatives:
“The church is Babylon—leave it!” (Many independent atom movements, such as Prophecy Again, make similar claims, boldly attacking the world body while refusing to be part of it. Beware of movements like that; they are not from God.)
Legalism, feast-keeping, offshoot pride
Anti-Trinitarianism
The idea that Spiritual Gifts Vol. 4 is the only good version of the Great Controversy (regardless of the fact that Ellen G. White herself signed off on the 1911 version. See this link, and this link.)
Turkey as the King of the North (See my recent live series on my YouTube channel for studies on Daniel 11, and why the Papacy, not Turkey, is the King of the North in these last days.)
The idea that the Jesuits have infiltrated the Seventh-day Adventist Church. (While I'm sure they have made attempts, I do not believe for a second that God would allow His end time Remnant to be conquered by the Satanic organization of the Jesuits.)
And so many more.
Satan brings in these various errors, and more, because he knows that to accept them is to reject the Three Angel's Message. Satan knows he can't destroy the truth. So he brings in myriad replacements.
The only safe ground is the Word of God, and constantly searching our hearts to see if we are cherishing nay sins or idols.
The Bible tells us:
Isaiah 8:20 (KJV) To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
John 17:17 (KJV) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
People will often latch onto one of the aforementioned deceptions, or other deceptions, and hang on for dear life. They will make idols of them, and attack and accuse anyone who disagrees with them of being the bad guys. (for example, nearly every person I've seen accept the anti-trinitarian doctrine has either left the church, or taken it to that idolatrous level, where they attack anyone who disagrees; I've only seen one person not do either.)
We must stay balanced. Satan wants to tip the scales and make us fall into either the fanatical liberal or fanatical conservative ditch. He doesn't care which, as long as we bite the lure and are lost.
Pray for discernment.
Don't cherish sin or idols.
And don't leave the Remnant.
James 4:7-12 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
